How We Keep You Safe
At Legacy Family Dental, our patient’s safety is our #1 priority. See the actions we are taking to keep you safe during your dental appointment below:
We are screening for symptoms to verify health and prevent any exposure to illness.
As a healthcare facility, according to the CDC, all guests and patients are asked to wear a mask while in the office. Our dental healthcare providers wear 2 masks: a 95% filtration respirator mask, covered by a surgical mask which is changed for every patient.
Double Filtration Water Purification
Surgically Clean Air
All patient treatment rooms, waiting area, team lounge, and lab are equipped with a 5 filtration air purification system called a surgically clean air unit. Each unit has the capability to completely turn over the room air in each room. So in just 5 minutes, the air in each patient treatment room has been filtered and purified!
All areas unable to be wiped due to access or due to protection of equipment are now able to be disinfected by fogging a disinfectant solution strong enough to kill the toughest of virus and bacteria.
Dedicated Sterilization Technician
Our standards of sterilization have doubled, which makes our meticulous process of handling and sterilizing all of our instruments a full-time job. We now have a dedicated sterilization technician devoting time to instrument preparation, sterilization, room disinfection, and set up.
At Legacy, we take our patient's and our team's safety very seriously. Our policies are in accordance with the strictest CDC guidelines in infection control. We utilize a dedicated OSHA trainer / specialist for review, recommendations, feedback, and education on our health and safety protocols in the office.
Dental Waterline Testing
Dedicated Specialists for Information Privacy & Cyber Security
To ensure the security of your personal health information, we contract the services from 3C Technology Solutions for continual monitoring of our computer network. Their surveillance of our network is an effort to prevent any breach and to keep our virus/malware and other necessary software updated as often as needed.
In addition to the hardware and software needs for network stability and security, we have added another layer of oversight, by utilizing a specialty company, HealthSecureIT, who focuses exclusively on HIPAA and Cybersecurity. This company provides personalized training for our entire team annually on how to keep your personal health information (PHI) private and secure, and specifically consults our office on policies and practices necessary for us to put in place.
All of our equipment is heat sterilized in our Midmark Autoclaves, which are manufactured right here in Ohio! Each sterilization cycle is monitored and verified with specialized indicators located in the materials we use to wrap or cover our instruments. Additionally, we send out samples weekly to Ohio State College of Dentistry Sterilization Monitoring Services to ensure our sterilization equipment is functioning properly.
