What do you need to know about white fillings?
Your smile is unique – which is why we’ll take the time to build the best care path for you.
Why is this better than silver fillings?
There are many advantages to tooth-colored restorations. Resin onlays are bonded to the teeth creating a tight, superior fit to the natural tooth. Such restorations can be used in instances where much of the tooth structure has been lost. The tooth remains intact and stronger.
Can I replace my silver filling with white fillings?
Yes! We actually recommend it, as silver contains mercury and negatively affect your overall health.
What can I expect during my white fillings visit?
We remove your old filling or perform a root canal to clear out tooth decay. Then we take an impression of your tooth to make a custom onlay (white filling). While the custom onlay is being made we protect your tooth with a temporary one. The second appointment we remove the temporary onlay and securely bond your new white filling!
How many appointments will this take?
This will take two – one to clean the problem tooth and give us time to create your custom filling. The second is to bond your filling! Your filling will be cured (set) to their maximum strength at the second appointment and chemically bonded to your teeth.
Take a step towards a lifetime of great oral health.
